We’re thrilled to share the next chapter in Aoife & Thady’s love story, following their romantic engagement in Phoenix Park. The talented duo behind White Tea, Aga & Noel, captured the intimate moments of this special day once again. Today, we’re delighted to announce that the lovely couple has tied the knot and graciously allowed us to share their joyous wedding photographs.

The celebration took place on December 30th at the picturesque Millhouse in Slane, a venue that perfectly reflected the couple’s easygoing and joyful nature. As Christmas festivities were still in full swing, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the stage for an unforgettable New Year’s celebration.

With memories to cherish and love to share, every bride will agree that getting ready with loved ones beforehand is a cherished experience, complete with a glass of bubbly to calm the nerves.

The wedding ceremony took place at the historic Church of St Martin in Culmullen, near Dunshaughlin. What made this celebration truly special was the personal touch that my brother Fintan brought to the proceedings. As the celebrant, he made the ceremony feel more intimate and moving, which was a unique experience for me. The addition of music by my nephew Aidan, along with dear friends Adelle, Julie, and Sean, further enriched the atmosphere, making it a memorable event.

Aoife’s choice of attire also added to the charm, as she opted for a traditional veil that framed her face beautifully when paired with loose hair, giving off a relaxed and effortless vibe.

As the winter season set in, Aoife & Thady’s special day was infused with festive charm. The couple’s love story was woven together with cozy elements reminiscent of Christmas magic – think warm mince pies, twinkling fairy lights, and mistletoe. Even Aga’s delectable gingerbread got in on the action, with a tantalizing teaser to come.

As I listened to Aoife’s account of the day’s adventures, one moment stood out as particularly amusing. It was the time Thady provided me with hilariously incorrect directions to get to the church. The scenario that unfolded was reminiscent of a scene from a comedy film – my brother and dad careening through the back roads of Meath with our entourage in tow, navigating the rolling countryside of County Meath.

When it came to creative guestbook ideas, my nephew Andrew stole the show with his stunning artwork featuring a tree from the film ‘Up’. We encouraged our guests to get hands-on and leave their mark by using inkpads to add fingerprints to the artworks. Meanwhile, we utilized our beautiful engagement photos as a unique guestbook alternative on the big day.

I took charge of crafting the venue’s aesthetic with all table decorations and features being carefully curated by me over six months leading up to the wedding. I had my eyes peeled for unique finds and brought them back whenever inspiration struck! Thady’s sweet tooth got its due, with his request for bags of penny sweets as favors. After all, you can always count on him having a stash at hand.

It’s worth noting that our stunning wedding cake came courtesy of Marks & Spencers, thanks to Aoife’s clever budgeting skills. White Tea also impressed with their delectable gingerbread cookies that were a huge hit among our guests. If you’re booking a wedding photographer in the future, don’t forget to include some sweet treats from White Tea as part of the package!

One unforgettable moment for us was when all our guests formed a circle around us for our first dance to The Wannadies’ ‘You and Me Song’. It’s only fitting that this special tune served as our first dance, given its meaningful lyrics that remind us so much of ourselves!

Where to Grab the Wedding Goodies

When it came to planning their special day, the couple turned to a stunning white orchid wedding dress, complete with swords, and a delicate veil from Oxfam on George’s Street. To add an extra touch of elegance, they chose a beautiful headpiece and earrings from Monsoon. The bridesmaids dresses were purchased at Debenhams, with accessories from Oasis. For the big day itself, they selected The Millhouse in Slane as their picturesque venue.

Keeping the party going all night long was The Shakes, who took to the stage as the wedding band. To complete the couple’s look, Sarah O’Neill handled hair duties while Zena at Harvey Nichols was on hand with her expertise for makeup. Meanwhile, Thady opted to create his own unique style by choosing a three-piece suit, and the groomsmen suits were courtesy of Aston Formal Hire.
