The wedding ceremony took place at St. Saviour’s Dominican church in Limerick city, just around the corner from the venue. The atmosphere was truly magical, with a gospel choir singing our favorite songs and having all of our friends and family present to share in the joy. For me, the most memorable moment was walking into the church with Alan by my side.

Following the ceremony, we took a leisurely stroll through Limerick, making stops along the way for our wedding portraits.

Despite the mid-winter chill, photographer Christina Brosnan brought warmth and depth to our photos, capturing the intimate moments between us in a way that felt truly special. It was as if nothing else existed except for our happiness, and even the cold couldn’t bring us down!

Celine meticulously crafted a unique aesthetic for her wedding to Alan, incorporating personal touches and elegant decorative elements. She shared with us the creative process behind her vision… To achieve a vintage-inspired atmosphere without being too over-the-top, Celine drew inspiration from the hotel’s decor. She wanted their special day to harmonize with the hotel’s style rather than clash with it.

From the onset, she was drawn to a lovely sage green hue that she intended to feature prominently. Her approach was further refined through the creation of a mood board, which served as a visual reminder of her goals. One unconventional element that stood out was the photo tree. Celine had seen this concept on a blog and thought it would be an innovative way to capture memories.

The process required some preparation leading up to the wedding, but it was crucial to include as many guests as possible in the photographs. Alan took charge of designing the invitations and mass booklets, which presented its own set of creative challenges. Additionally, they used personal photos from their travels to adorn the tables.

The other decorations cleverly combined both their interests – Alan’s fondness for old-style robots and cameras, and Celine’s affinity for vintage birdcages and silver love hearts. The reception was held at No. 1 Pery Square, a beautifully restored Georgian house with a unique blend of traditional and modern decor. A whimsical touch was the floor in the brasserie, which featured wine crates complete with their original stamps and markings – perfect for a lively celebration.

Any Advice for other Couples?

While it’s wonderful to have a memorable wedding reception, don’t get carried away. Instead, find a venue that resonates with you both where you can collaborate with the hotel to craft an unforgettable experience. Make sure your partner is actively involved in the planning process and truly listen to their ideas. You might have a vision in mind, but involving them will ensure that both of you thoroughly enjoy the celebration. It’s also important to remember that less can indeed be more.

Celine and Alan, for instance, opted out of having a wedding car, cake, video, or favors – yet their guests hardly noticed! This approach can help keep costs in check while still providing an exceptional experience. A huge thank you goes to Christina Brosnan for sharing this glimpse into Celine and Alan’s special day.
